Another Trip Up North - Wix Party

Straight from Sadie's swim meet, the kids and I headed up to Washington for another visit! That evening was a very special party. My friend (we met at church in 5th grade), Sarah Wix, and her husband, Jason, have struggled with infertility for several years. On Easter Sunday they had their first attempt at in-vitro... and it worked! Sarah had her ultrasound a few days before the party and had the baby's gender sealed up in an envelope. This party was a gender reveal party and we all found out at the same time, including Jason and Sarah!

Sarah and Jason's friend actually did secretly open the envelope and called the results in to a bakery, who then baked cupcakes with either pink or blue frosting in the middle. It was the coolest thing ever! Each guest was to wear either pink or blue, based on their gender guess.

At this point, only the cupcakes KNOW!!

Before we even ate dinner, everyone was so anxious to know, we went ahead and dug in! Everyone got a cupcake and on the count of three we all took a bite...

BOY!!!!!

Jason took the hugest bite ever and even before I could lick my frosting, he was shrieking with excitement! It was such an awesome moment, and I cannot wait for Jason and Sarah to finally hold their miracle baby son!!
