Sunday we girls headed to the beach! There is a train (kind of like Portland's MAX) that goes from Escondido all the way to Oceanside, where you can then get on the Coaster , which goes up and down the coast. The day started off cloudy and even though the sun looked like it was trying to peek through, it never did. It was still beautiful at the beach for sure, though. When we got there we saw that there was a long board surfing competition going on, so that was a fun little surprise.

It has been so long since I have been to a California beach that I forgot about all the lifeguard stands. So different than here in Oregon!
On our walk back down the pier after lunch, we spotted a group of dolphins! There were 4, I think, and it was so neat to see them so close!

Sadie had fun in the surf. I think she wished she had her swimsuit, even though it was COLD!
We then hopped back on the train and went back to Escondido. Sadie swam in the pool and we had dinner and just hung out some more!
