As most of you know, Tony just this week became a police K-9 handler! This has been his dream ever since he became a police officer, so it pretty special. His new best friend is Kahzi (or Kahz, as I think he will go by at work. But the kids and I are calling him Kahzi) is a 2 year old German Shepard. He has only had a little bit of training, so there is a lot of work to be done on Tony's part. He is doing some stuff now with the other K-9 officers and then will start actual drug recognition training with Kahzi in September. Kahzi is pretty sweet and super mellow. He is kind of skinny, so hopefully he can put some meat on his bones! He will live in his dog run on the side of our house pretty much all the time he is home, at least for now. We hope that once he is trained and things are well established, he will be able to be played with and maybe come in the house once in awhile! He is not a tracking dog, so he is not trained in aggression in any way. Just using his sniffer to find drugs. Check out our new guy!

YAY! :) Dogs are so awesome! I can't think of a better cause than this that you're training him for too! And, what a beautiful addition to your family!
Congrats to Tony! I bet the kids love to be able to tell their friends what Dad does.:>) And...the neighbors gotta love it too. I sure would!
Tony brought him over yesterday...what a beautiful, sweet dog. Tony looks so happy to finally be a dog handler. An answered prayer :)
