All Comer's Track Meet

We have lived in Hillsboro for many years now and JUST NOW did I find out about the All Comer's Track Meet that runs every Wednesday in June and July!! Today was the last meet, and it was SO great! Everyone ages two and up can participate. It was a little hectic and confusing, but the kids were able to do most everything they wanted. Drew did the 50m dash, long jump, softball throw (instead of the javelin-smart people!), and discus. Zack did the 50m hurdles, 50m dash, 100m dash, softball throw, discus and long jump. Sadie did the 100m dash, turbo jav (a soft javelin), long jump, discus, shot put and high jump. Each child got a green ribbon for participation if they didn't place 1st, 2nd or 3rd. We came home with tons of green ribbons and the kids were so proud! But the proudest moment for Sadie was when she found out she placed second in the shot put! She was quite surprised, because it was so heavy and she felt she didn't throw it far at all! I am sad that this was the last meet, but we will look forward to it next summer!
Ouch, Sadie.

Fly, Sadie, fly!

Zack and the discus

"I have to jump OVER something WHILE I'm running?"

"Heh, Heh, watch out!"

Nice throw, Zack!

"Oooh, a sandbox!"

It's tough to jump out as far as you can!

Sadie running her little legs off!

I took a video for the first time on my camera of Drew's 50m dash. I am not even sure this will all work, but let's try it! I sound a little obnoxious in the video with my "Go, go, go's!", but he didn't exactly know what he was supposed to do!
