A Spot of Tea

The Stratford House is a delightful English tea room/restaurant right here in downtown Hillsboro. It has become a tradition for me, Sadie and my mom to go to tea the weekend of Sadie's family birthday party. So on Saturday the three of us dressed up and went off to tea! We had a wonderful time, drinking tea and eating lots of yummy goodies! Thanks, Mom, we can't wait for next year!

Tony turns 32!

Tony's 32nd birthday was this past Tuesday. One of our favorite places to eat, McMenamin's Rock Creek Tavern. happens to have open bluegrass night on Tuesdays, so we hopped on over for some dinner and music!
Sadie really wanted to make a present for Daddy, so she picked a picture and colored a picture frame for him! She is so darn sweet.

Drew made Daddy a card

And so did Zack

Sadie's First Sleepover!!

For her 9th birthday, Sadie wanted to have a sleepover. We obliged. She invited 5 friends and they had a BLAST!
Sadie made a special sign at the door for her guests

Waiting for the last two girls to arrive

All their stuff

We started with a delicious pizza dinner

Time for presents!

Then they played some games. They had 30 seconds to put on makeup with out a mirror. This is them seeing themselves for the first time. Too funny!

Sadie's birthday dessert request - chocolate trifle!

And then the piece de la resistance... Pedicures!! My dear friend Angela, who used to work in a spa, was so kind to come over, bring all her stuff, and help me give the girls some rockin' pedis! And I even got one too! Yahoo!

Emma and Amy

Then the girls watched a movie - "Kit Kittredge, an American Girl"

Time for bed! We won't talk about what time it was...

Good morning!

My Baby Turns 9!!!

Wow, I am days late on this post, I hope Sadie can forgive me! Last Friday, my sweet baby girl turned 9. I just can't believe that it has been 9 years since that painful but amazing day when she came into this world as a 7 pound miracle. Sadie has filled our lives and home with joy, laughter, love and even a little attitude thrown in there that now we would just not know what to do without. ;) She is an amazing girl and I thank God every day for giving her to me and Tony. We love you SO much! Happy Birthday Sweetie!
Starting the day with a little gift and her favorite meal...breakfast burritos!!

She got the American Girls feel better kit, which includes casts, crutches and bandages. Right up her alley. (And yes, I would have LOVED this when I was a kid!)

Then the boys and I went and had lunch with her and passed out birthday treats to her class.

That night we went to The Old Spaghetti Factory, Sadie's choice, of course! Daddy was sweet and bought her a rose. Man, doesn't she look old in this picture? *sniff sniff*

Then the waiters sang to her. She loved it, of course!

Drew Goes to Preschool

Today was Drew's first day as a preschooler at Prince of Peace Preschool! I can't believe this day is already here. He has been so excited for this day to come and had no issues whatsoever. He walked right into his class, put his bag in his cubby and started playing! After school, he ran right past me to the playground and barely even said hi. I guess that means it went well. :)
Saying goodbye to Daddy

He had to show off his new school bag!

Ready to go in!

Drew and Mrs. Kimball! Sadie and Zack both had her, we LOVE Mrs. Kimball!

I get to use a knife??!!

"Mom, can you leave already?"
