Summit View Christmas Party

The kids do a little Christmas program every year at church, which we always love to see. They are so darn cute! This year they all sang several Christmas songs, and Sadie even had a solo in one of them! She was nervous but did great. Drew sang his little heart out and Zack, well, I think Zack sang. ;)
Our camera doesn't do well from far away, so no great pics

After the program we had a whole church potluck and then the kids got to make little edible manger scenes. It was really fun, despite the fact that the sanctuary heater had gone out the day before and it was arctically cold in there...

Happy Birthday to ME!

My birthday is December 12 and this year it happened to fall on a Saturday! It was really nice to actually feel like it was a special day. :) We went out to breakfast as a family at Longbottom Coffee Co., which is a coffee house but almost a restaurant in that they have a pretty full (and highly delicious) menu. Then Sadie and I ran some errands together and she hung out with me while I got a pedicure for my special day. That night was the Beaverton Police Department's Christmas party, and that made for a great excuse for me and Tony to get dressed up and go out! All in all, it was a great birthday and so far I am enjoying being 33, even though, according to some folks, I still look 18. ;)

Zack's Award

If you have read my blog for awhile, you may recall me mentioning a monthly event at Sadie and Zack's school called Town Hall, where students get awards throughout the year. This months' Town Hall was extra special because Zack got an award! His teacher had let us know so that Tony and I could be there, and it was just super fun to see our big guy be recognized! Here is a clip I took. His is the third award presented for his class.

We are so proud of you, Zack!

O Christmas Tree

I love Christmas, and thankfully, so does Tony. We both readily agreed we should get our tree ASAP after Thanksgiving this year. It was still November, but we headed out to our favorite tree farm called Loch Lolly. It is a beautiful farm and we always find the perfect tree for a very reasonable price. They did not fail us this year!
This year they have reindeer to check out. Pretty neat animals!

It's a Charlie Brown tree!

Like my antlers?

The kids got to have a little chat with Santa...

Once the tree was home, Drew became Daddy's little helper!

Time for ornaments!

The Fire Station!

Tony's sister Alyssa is engaged to a great guy named Casey. Casey is a Eugene firefighter and paramedic, and he was working one of the days we were down there for Thanksgiving. So he and Alyssa surprised the kids with a trip to the fire station! The kids got a tour of the fire truck and fire station, saw Casey put all his equipment on, and Sadie had her heart analyzed. They all loved it (we did too, of course!)
Checking out the back of the engine

Sitting tall! (Drew was too scared to sit in the engine...)

Man, he has a LOT of stuff to put on for fires!

Yay! Casey saved Zack! :)

Sadie's heart is good, phew!

The kids say "Thank you, Uncle Casey!"

Thanksgiving... Am I really that far behind??

Okay guys, wow. I am SO far behind on my blogging, please forgive me! Let's see, where are we at? Thanksgiving. So every year we head down to Eugene for Thanksgiving. Tony's dad, step-mom, two brothers and sister live there, so it is always lots of fun when we go!

So, umm, Drew really likes dogs, especially Bella and Maya. Can you tell?

So sweet!

Handsome boy having a blast playing Battleship

We went to the park and I decided to play with the color settings on my camera. These turned out kind of cool.

Nik and Paul, having a serious moment...

Uncle Casey about to puke on the tire swing. Brave guy.

Umm, so not too sure whose idea this was, but Drew and Uncle Derek thought it was hilarious!

Thanksgiving dinner, YUM!!
