Seattle Children's Museum and the Space Needle

Thursday the kids and I went to the Seattle Children's Museum with Jenn, Tyler and Blake. Since my poor children are deprived and have never even been to the Children's Museum we have here, they thought it was the coolest thing ever! It isn't huge, but it still had lots of different rooms and activities.
Captain Zack loved the boat!

And the motorcycle

Zack also loved the rocket

They had a little stage the kids LOVED. Sadie doesn't look comfortable acting onstage or anything...

Tuesday and Wednesday in Washington

Tuesday

Tuesday we headed East to Orting to visit another dear friend named Sarah (Burks) and her 6 awesome children. We spent the day talking, feeding children and just enjoying each other's company. The kids were all very sad when we had to leave.

I did not do a good job of getting pics of all the kids or one of me and Sarah, but I will share what I have!
Riley, Wyatt and Zack, taking a nap - on each other! :)

Levi takes the longest to warm up to new people and he was hiding from me, but I managed to get this picture! He is so cute!

Sadie and Michaela, the lone girls in a sea of boys!

The baby, Courage. So cute...and heavy.

Zack and Levi (I got him on camera again. Yessss!)

And Drew, always ready to pose for the camera.

No pictures of Hunter or of the front sides of Riley and Wyatt, sorry guys!

Wednesday

Once again, I didn't do too well with the camera. We spent the day with my wonderful friend, Jenn, and her boys Tyler and Blake. We went to their weekly music class, to lunch at Azteca (yum!) and then hung out at their house. The only pic I got was of Drew, who fell asleep on the couch after not getting a nap.

I had to add this pic too. Wednesday morning, the boys joined Papa Tom for morning reading time. Precious.

Spring Break in Washington

This past week was our Spring Break. I decided that it was high time the kids and I made a trip to WA to visit family and friends we hadn't seen in awhile. So we went! My parents live in Federal Way, and it takes about 2 1/2 hours to get to their house from here. We arrived on Sunday and had the whole week planned out.

MONDAY

Got up, got dressed and headed to Marysville to visit my friend/roommate from SPU, Sarah (Morris). She has two kids, Emma and Luke. We hung out, picked Emma up at preschool, went to Red Robin, and had lots of time to catch up on life. It was really great to just be able to talk and let the kids play. Emma and Luke are so sweet, I really enjoyed seeing them and how big they are getting!

All of our kiddos!
Check it out, this was taken in October of 2006, obviously right after Luke was born. Crazy how fast they grow, huh?

Tony's sister, Chrissie and her husband, Aaron, live in Northgate, on the North side of Seattle. So we headed to their new house on our way through Seattle on Monday night. Aaron fixed us a delicious dinner of chicken, broccoli, asparagus and potatoes and Chrissie made this awesome cupcake candy thing for dessert. Other than the little Wii malfunction, we had a great time visiting and seeing their new place. Oh, and the kids also each got to pet their very-scared-of-children dog, Colton!
Sadie's belated Christmas present, a soccer outfit for Mia - it was back ordered from American Girl until this month!

Chrissie and Aaron may not be able to join us here in Portland for Easter. So she got stuff for the kids to dye eggs at their house. She is such a fun Auntie!

Brothers

Zack and Drew couldn't be more different. Zack is calm and mellow, he loves to read/look at books and learn lots about his favorite subjects, and can sit and play with Legos or some activity for hours on end. Drew is feisty, energetic, doesn't sit still for more than a few minutes (unless you catch him in a rare moment with his thumb, Scarf and Bear) and would much rather be outside playing than inside keeping himself occupied.

But there are those rare occasions that Drew is actually interested in what Zack is doing and is allowed to join his big brother. These moments are beautifully priceless and, I hope, a glimpse of their relationship in the future.

Zack loves space and anything to do with space. He is actually studying space in preschool this month and boy, is he full of information! He was playing with some space flashcards yesterday that my mom gave him (thanks, Grandma Betsey!) and was drawing the planets. Drew thought that looked fun and I came out of the office to see this.
Two boys, completely different - one little boy drawn to his big brother with awe and admiration, and one big boy, knowing how important he is to his little brother. The moment was priceless.
I love you, my sweet boys!

Bunk Beds!

The time finally came for Drew to be the big boy he is and move up and out of his crib. We decided awhile ago that bunk beds would be the best choice for us and the boys. After lots of looking and price comparing, we went out Tuesday and bought a BEAUTIFUL wood bunk bed from our friends Rich and Debbie at Stanton Furniture in Beaverton. We set it up Tuesday but didn't have a mattress yet for Drew. So Zack slept on the top all by himself and he loved it! Yesterday we got a mattress for Drew and HE got to sleep in his big boy bunk bed last night! He went to bed no problem and slept like a champ!

So cool!

He likes it too!

I used my Night Shot mode on my camera, so this is last night while Drew was sleeping. He is so cute!
